This video serves as an example of the state of the injury "rehabilitation" industry post ACL tear and surgery. Can you spot shapes, pressures, and positions that may have caused the injury? Are they being addressed? This trainee is literally in the injury positions during the video for her ACL "rehab" -- for instance knee valgus on both sides, feet too far outside of her frame, inside edge foot pressures, ankle eversion, foot pronation. Hitting her with an exercise ball is an unnecessary addition to the drill. Fast high school athlete (Cyncere Gill @cyncere_gill) shows exceptional use of all three rotary engines (spine, shoulders, hips) during sprinting. His mechanics are reminiscent of Tyreek Hill of the KC Chiefs. Despite the poor video quality, you can catch the knee out out to in and the foot going straight to out along with the spine and shoulders creating power side to side over the foot as it hits the ground. A skips, B skips, back squatting, and olympic lifting could ruin this athlete's natural powerful movement mechanics. With arch collapse and inside of the foot loading, the heel flicks inward. These mechanics should be used to jump backwards (i.e. high jumping) but not for forward movement or jumping. Watch as the trainee floats and the heels actually hit each other. This happens to be a collegiate high jumper using backward jumping mechanics for forward jumping. The positions and pressures in this video are the opposite of what Michael Jordan uses.

This is a seasoned strength coach showing heels in, toes out with foot collapse during the back squat. Trainees often resort to flat footed, heels in, toes out squatting to make up for tight hips; and a wider stance than necessary to make up for a tight ankle complex. The ramifications of this for athletes is a higher lower extremity injury risk as the CNS is dumbed down by faulty positions, shapes, pressures, and mechanics for locomotion.
