How to Strain Yogurt

Strained Yogurt

Ingredients:
Plain yogurt

Materials:
Fine-mesh strainer
Fine-mesh cheesecloth
Bowl

Instructions:
1. Line strainer with cheesecloth and place into bowl.
2. Scoop yogurt into lined strainer.
3. Allow yogurt to strain overnight in refrigerator.
4. Remove yogurt from cheesecloth in morning and store in separate bowl.
5. Enjoy resulting thick yogurt with fresh fruit or honey.

    Does straining the yogurt remove some of its lactic acid content?

    You can also use unbleached coffee filters in place of the cheese cloth.
